So the time has finally come. In less than 12 hours, I will be aboard JetBlue flight #1695 heading to Heredia, Costa Rica! Although I should probably be in "freak out mode right now," I'm actually "cool, calm, and collected!"
I failed with my plan to "pack light"... my luggage weighs 46 lbs...only 4 pounds to spare.
I'm very excited to meet my home stay family tomorrow.
Beans and rice, beans and rice, beans and rice. Apparently I will be eating a lot of beans and rice!
I feel like I lived in my car this week. As I prepared for this trip, I had many errands to run. Every time I thought I had purchased everything I would need for my trip, I would remember one more thing. And once I got home, I'd remember another and another. I can truthfully say that I have been to either Target or Walmart (sometimes both) every single day this week! I'm exhausted from "living in my car" and I'm actually looking forward to walking to campus and around town everyday.
Another thing is that tomorrow I will relinquish my Blackberry. As strange as it may sound to any smart phone owner, I'm actually looking forward to the experience of being "unplugged." There have been so many buzzes, pings, texts, e-mails, facebook notifications, and phone calls that it will be a nice and pleasant change to not have any phone at all. Finally some peace and quiet!
I will be gone for 5 weeks (37 days) and will return on June 13th. I don't know how many times I will get to update this blog once I get to Costa Rica, but I hope to share some of my adventures with you all.
Also, please keep me in your prayers! ♥
Matthew 6:34
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."
