Pantuflas.

Esta mañana empecé a caminar a la escuela. Salí de la casa y continué caminando. ¡Vi a mis pies y todavía estuve llevando mis pantuflas! Ay caramba. Regresé a la casa y me puse mis sandalias. Obviamente llegue a clase con demora. No bueno.
(This morning I began walking to school. I left the house and continued on my way. I looked down at my feet and I was still wearing my slippers! Oh goodness. I returned to the house and put on my sandals. Obviously this made me late to class. Not good.)

After class this morning, I took a dance class at Intercultura and it was muy divertido (fun)! I can't remember the names of the dances we learned, but I definitely enjoyed it--a bit different from dancing on Flagler's Dance Team. Haha.

Nothing much happened after that. Just 4 hours of Spanish class. No big deal. And I have boat loads of homework. I've been at Intercultura 3 days so far and everynight I've had a writing assignment in addition to review worksheets and such. I guess that's what I get for being in an "advanced" level class. But honestly, I really am enjoying the class and the professor makes it fun. We have done a lot of practice of past tense verbs by writing and orally retelling children's stories. How perfect is this for me?! Learning about and writing children's stories in Spanish!

After class I came home and once again Mamá Tica reinforced what a good host mom she is to us. She knew before I came that I don't eat red meat, but that was what she cooked for dinner. Lovely Mamá Tica made me my own dinner of pasta while the others ate red meat! (Our first day we had discussed foods we liked and didn't like and I had said that pasta was one of my favorite foods. She had obviously remembered this when she chose what to make for me tonight.) How sweet can a Mamá Tica be?!

Thank you to those of you who have been sending me e-mails in response to my blog. It is nice to have communication and hear what is happening in the US. And thank goodness for skype. I got to see my fat Jack tonight and Mamacita and Kaley!! Oh and some of ya'll have asked how to comment on the blog. I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but it told me that in order to comment you must make a google account. I made one by accident, so apparently it is pretty easy...

¡Buenas noches!
