Demasiados bocinazos para contar...

Today's title means "Too many honks to count."  I think that Costa Rican males driving cars, trucks, or motorcycles need to keep their hands on the wheel, their eyes forward, and their mouths shut!
During our ten minute walks (since we now know the way) to and from intercultura today, I can't even count how many honks we got.  Ughh!  If only we could trade honks for opportunities to cross the road, then maybe I'd be happy.

Classes went well today.  Just very tired from walking the 12 blocks uphill three times a day.

I'm finding it quite weird to be writing this in English...here, my world is spoken in Spanish, and everything I'm saying and writing is in Spanish.  Por ejemplo (for example), this morning I was writing in my journal-- I started in English and without noticing I had begun to write in Spanish.

The weather has been very nice today... the forecast was calling for rain, but it was a nice, fairly sunny day and it never rained. On our way home tonight, the clouds were so close to the mountains and the sunset was absolutely goregeous.  The naturaleza here is such a gift from God!  The only thing that I do have to complain about is la tarea (the homework).  It's summer time.  Classes are good, but I don't like "taking them home with me."  After eating such a large dinner each night and spending four hours in classes prior to this dinner, I want nothing more than to rest and do nothing.  But there's the homework calling my name.  But I know this will benefit me in the long run.  It has only been two days and I am being fully immersed--I can't wait to see how much my Spanish will improve over the next 35 days!

I must emphasize how wonderful our mamá tica is.  We had a two hour break for lunch today so we decided to come home for one hour of that.  Lunch is not included in our stay with her, but she made us lunch.  And we had such good conversation during and after dinner.  I think we probably sat around the table for an extra hour after we had finished eating and just talked about anything and everything.  I learned a lot about mamá tica tonight.  It's crazy to think I've only been here two days and I get to stay for 5 weeks!

I think that is all for now...time to start some reading and writing :(
