Volcán Arenal

This morning was semi-bittersweet. Everyone is excited to go to the Sámara campus, but it was Flagler's last day at Intercultura together. My studying paid off, because I made a 94 on my exam today! After the exam our class joined with Mayela's class (my professor from last week) and we played this game called "locura." It was definitely loco, but I ended up winning. Suerte principante (beginner's luck), for sure.

We are currently staying in a hotel near Volcán Arenal and we have a beautiful view of the volcano from our room. On our way here there were clouds covering the top, but by the time we arrived, all of the clouds had cleared.

Tonight we went to Baldi Hot Springs. Oh what a wonderful experience it was to swim in the thermal hot springs. There are 23 hot springs of different temperatures throughout the park, and three TALL slides that go into one of the pools. The hottest spring that we ventured into was 117 degrees (F)! It was definitely hot, but there was a nice cool pool in the middle. The slides were super fun, too!

I'm not exactly sure of our plans for tomorrow, but we will be leaving the hotel and making our way towards our next stop: Monte Verde. We may do some hiking in the morning...
Hopefully I will be lucky enough to have an internet connection at the next hotel to keep everyone up to date.
